October 2011 - Minutes of Meeting

Minutes of the committee meeting held on 4th October 2011. Present:- Jon Robinson, Paul Allison, Jack Simpson, Martin Tooth, Albert Stillwell, Chris Charlton, Martin Gasson, Tony Standing. Apologies:- Gill Standing, Ann Collins and Mark Harris. 1. Via Albert, Phil Osborne has resigned from the committee. 2. Winter fixtures are available in the Clubhouse and on the Website. 3. Andrew Parsons has agreed to take over the treasurers position from Jack following the AGM, Martin T to invite Andrew to the Jan 2012 meeting. 4. The grass needs cutting at the back of the 18th green when labour is available. 5. The amount of people doing work party on a Sat is reducing. Ann and Tony to pursue members. We will ask Paul T to put a reminder on the website. 6. The 4th fairway by the grass bunkers needs shaping. 7. 2 men have been appointed to shoot rabbits. 8. Race Night was both a successful social and financial evening. We expect to make between £400 and £500, figure will be known next week. 9. Vote of thanks to Tony for all his efforts in making the Race Night a success. 10. Jack issued and explained his financial statement. 11. Membership is down by 12 this year and this affects the finances, we still hope to break even or make a small profit. 12. Martin T to investigate a venue for the presentation evening for Jan 2012. 13. Presidents Cup won by Keith Hollingdale. 14. Medal – David sayers, second brian Cullen. 15. Stableford – Gus Warner, second Tony Russell 16. Courier Cup – Albert Stillwell. 17. Shirley Connell Cup – Tony Standing and Jim Dobson. 18. Singles – Chris Nye. 19. Doubles – Chris nye and Andy Parsons, second Malcolm Town and Barry Daniels. 20. Ladies Medal – Jean Bean, second Annie Goodall. Ladies Stableford – ditto 21. Send Waterhall fixture dates to Mike Riddiford. 22. Due to changing Jobs Jim Dobson can not deal with the trophies. Martin T will check in Horsham otherwise Tony will get them done in Worthing. Next meeting Tuesday 1st November 2011.
