Minutes of the committee meeting held on Tuesday 5th July 2011. Present: Albert Stillwell, Jon Robinson, Chris Charlton, Tony Standing, Jack Simpson, Martin Tooth, Mark Harris, Martin Gasson, Anne Collins, Paul Allison. Apologies: Gill Standing, Phil Osborne. 1. Mark still looking for another Buoy. 2. Free entry in BN5 magazine, had some membership enquiries. 3. Onion emptied and paid for. 4. Purchase of top dresser postponed. 5. 9 at present for the away Waterhall match. 6. Anne tweaking the work party attendance sheet. 7. Tractor shed felt roof and the skip are delayed until we have more funds. 8. We have full status with both SCGU and the EGU. 9. Dress code list amended by Martin T and is on the board. 10. Anne has contact with a rabbit man and ask him to start the culling with his dogs. 11. Anne and Daphne did an excellent display in the post office window. 12. As usual, a good financial report from Jack. 13. Martin Gasson can be e mailed at martinspring2000@yahoo.co.uk 14. Albert has 9 teams for the Charity day. He has asked for help at 7am to put up the tent. We will have bacon rolls as we go round. Martin has arranged for the barrier to be up for the day. We need to keep a check that cars do not obstruct the unit doors. 15. Anne with help, to arrange the sale of tea and biscuits for the Junior Day. Jon will try and find out approx numbers. 16. Jon was disappointed with the turn out for Captain’s Day, nobody has realised it fell on Father’s Day. 17. Tony Jeffcoat has left the Club, David Sayers is taking over the Handicap position. 18. The Council have approved the additional industrial units and work could start in 2 or 3 months time. They have an obligation to maintain vehicle access to our car park at all times. 19. Cover for the junior competition. Saturday 13th August 1pm to 6pm Jon and Paul Sunday 14th August 1pm to 6pm Chris and Martin G Tuesday 16th August 5pm to 8.30pm Albert and Tony Thursday 18th August 5pm to 8.30pm Martin T and Jack Saturday 20th August 1pm to 6pm Jon and Paul Sunday 21st August 1pm to 6pm Mark and Anne Tuesday 23rd August 5pm to 8.30pm Albert and Jack Thursday 25th August 5pm to 8.30pm Chris and Martin T 20. Debate on the grass bunker by the 2nd . Agreed that it should have had committee approval before it started. Lesson learnt and in future and changes that alter the contour of the course must have committee approval before starting. We can turf the bunker by the 2nd green nearer the Junior day. We may be able to use turf cut from the path running parallel to the 4th fairway. Chris to get 3 tonne of top soil for £100, this Saturday. |
